Less than 2 days from now it'll be 2026 (in central Europe) and a "Annus Horribilis at the European Patent Office", where António Campinos may be ousted as EPO President. Don't laugh. This can actually happen. His government (Portugal, not France) put him there and can also eject him, just as happened to Jesper Kongstad, the lapdog of Benoît Battistelli (whose government demanded action because he had become 'a disgrace to France'; remember that Campinos is a citizen of France and Portugal). We're told that our coverage of EPO Cocainegate already raises eyebrows not only in European media (I explained this to police yesterday after I had invited them here; they marked our home for extra protection upon seeing concrete evidence) but also European governments. Campinos and his friends could very well get ousted as we progress with this series, which is being watched closely. The common, general consensus - at least judging by our various sources - is that Campinos won't just be shouting the "F---" word at staff (in relation to Techrights), he will try to undermine us and somehow stop this series, which won't be ending any time soon. We're planning for this sort of obstruction and we're well prepared for challenges.
"You rightfully claimed that Berenguer is Campinos' protegee," an EPO insider told us. They take lots of photos together, so even any random outsider - by no means an insider - can see how close they are. In a sense, Berenguer is sort of like his 'bulldog' - a term often used to describe what Željko Topić was to Benoît Battistelli. Topić continues to enjoy the corruption of Battistelli's protector Christoph Ernst, who is still at the Office. Ernst continues to enjoy the protection of Germany's so-called ministry of 'justice', which openly and aggressively lobbied for an illegal and unconstitutional patent tribunal (because it would put Germany in greater control of everything).
What's sad isn't just the demise of the media; it's really bad that the officials meant to guard law, justice etc. do the exact opposite of that. What has happened to Germany???
An insider said about Berenguer: "He was installed by him [Campinos] and directly worked under the president, only reporting to him directly. He is his propaganda man, his problem solver. Only with good propaganda, you can secure power and your next term."
I should know because this propaganda chief was in charge of terrorising and bribing the media (I saw this firsthand and spoke to journalists who were threatened). Ever wondered why EPO media coverage was so submissive for 5+ years, merely parroting whatever the EPO claimed (even when it was patently false)? Follow the money, that was Berenguer et al.
At risk of analogies verging on Godwin's Law, Berenguer is to Campinos what Joseph Goebbels was to the ancestors of Battistelli (connected to actual Nazis). "But they also spend a lot of time together," an insider spoke/said of Campinos and Berenguer, in fact "their families are friendly with each other. Rumours say they've done cocaine together for years. Of course, Berenguer has known of Campinos' substance abuse first hand for a long time, a fact that could topple the whole regime. Same goes for Niloofar Simon who whitewashed her Persian name to "Nellie", and Christoph Ernst, who as the former head of the Administrative Council turned from a critic of the Battistelli regime to a hypocrite and arse-licker, and Steve Rowan, another opportunist from the British patent system who has arranged himself with this regime in his safe zone in The Hague, far away from the corrupt headquarters."
We'll come back to Simon at some point. She's bullying staff while Campinos protects her (even censors critics for her), then she flies pride flags for PR purposes. All those smiles and stupid gestures cannot eternally disguise/distract from the fact they're a "Mafia" (some at the EPO also call them "gang").
In the next part we'll show how all those people might react (the top-level managers who very well understand what's going on right now; the cocaine bust didn't take them by shock/surprise). Our assumption is that they try really hard right now to figure out how to 1) 'disappear' what we published; 2) prevent us publishing any more information about EPO Cocainegate, knowing it can topple the entire regime, not only Campinos. They're still trying to protect (or hide) Berenguer because they're chained together and if one falls, the rest might eventually follow. █
"Alicanta" or "Alicante" (some at the EPO say "Ali Cante" or words that are too rude to use here).
