State of the Slop, Day 364

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Dec 30, 2025

Today we've found or seen only one example of LLM slop in the feeds and it was from the usual culprit:

Slop or fake: Exploring AI Agents' Influence on Linux Security Threats and Administration

Just slop about slop something something "Linux!"

Nothing to see here.

Google News has thankfully not had much LLM slopfarm stuff lately, at least not in proximity to "Linux". Only one slopfarm made it through this past day and it's slop that's a ripoff of Phoronix mostly:

Slop or fake: CachyOS Outperforms Ubuntu and Arch in AMD EPYC Server Benchmarks

Some slop about "Fedora":

Slop or fake: Fedora Linux 2025: Key Innovations in Versions 42 and 43

Slop or fake: Fedora Linux 2025: Key Features in Versions 42 and 43

More Phoronix plagiarism-by-slop:

Slop or fake: Linux Kernel 7.0 Upgrades IO_uring IOPOLL to Hash Tables for Efficiency Gains

Slop or fake: Linus Torvalds Releases Linux 6.19-rc3 with ARM64 Fixes and GPU Boosts

Slop or fake: Intel Xe Driver Surpasses i915 on Arc Alchemist GPUs in Linux 6.19 Tests

And this one:

Slop or fake: D7VK 1.1 Adds Experimental Direct3D 6 Support for Vulkan on Linux

How does Phoronix feel about Google promoting slopfarms that 'rewrite' its stories and slap slop images on top?
