In 2024 and again in 2025 (at least once, in Germany) a Richard Stallman (RMS) talk was cancelled after organisers were pressured/pressurised or some lynch mob in social control media organised against organisers. In the latter case, based on what we heard (in private), the organisers were happy about RMS and very displeased about the mob, which they felt was blackmailing them.
A couple of days ago we heard there are similar efforts in 2026 [1, 2]. See, it must really piss off people on the payroll of GAFAM (or IBM or NVIDIA or Oracle etc.) that this man still attracts almost a thousand people to some talks (if venue capacity allows that). He did, after all, start this thing many folks call "Linux".
It you're still in social control media, and if you see some social control media bullies trying to slander RMS or shame people who invite him to talk, then use stallmansupport.org for rebuttals. That can really help.
