GNU/Linux Distribution "Ultimate Edition" Fixes Its Web Site (Apparently Compromised Months Ago)

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Jan 05, 2026

Last month and 2 months ago we said that the site of the GNU/Linux distribution "Ultimate Edition" had been hijacked/compromised. This issue seems to have been resolved since (compare [1, 2] to the below).

GNU/Linux distribution Ultimate Edition: 23 mirrors, excluding mine. Both are online. Gamers, I did include the security switch. I want you to be safe online. Read the “ReadMe” on your desktop before you install it. It will tell you everything you need to know. I have been building Operating Systems 20 years next year. I do know what I am doing. Ignoring the software I write.

About a week ago Ultimate 2025.12.28 was released. So at least, unlike Xubuntu, they dealt with the issue before media shame and a catastrophe of trust.
