Dr. Richard Stallman Has Done No Harm to the GNU Project or the FSF (He Had Benefited Both, Always, Even After the Attacks on Him Began)
The FSF is now halfway towards its January goal of 100 new members (it says 50 now) and the goal of $400,000 was exceeded ($578,982 now, not counting almost $900,000 more in large anonymous donations). Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) will soon be a proud host of the FSF's founder (Dr. Stallman), who also mentioned it 3 days ago. Near the time of his talk we'll have some interesting stories to tell about how people try - and fail - to 'cancel' him (or his talk).
After the FSF raised about $1.5 million in just a few months (that's a lot more than it raised in the entire prior year) it's hard to argue that the FSF has leadership problems. The board recently grew, so departures won't be noticed for long.
Some people try to prevent Dr. Stallman from speaking or having a platform where many people can hear him. We too are facing bullying tactics for speaking about Software Freedom and against 'secure boot'. █
