2026 Has Begun Well for GNU/Linux Users (and for Us)
The latest batch of Gemini/Gopher links contained this story which said "Win11 is causing a mass exodus of users. They're getting millions and millions of complaints, according to one video[0]. It seems like the video voice is AI, so I can't bear to like it, but I like what it's reporting. I left Microslop's desktop OS years ago." Slashdot meanwhile has this story: Four More Tech Bloggers Are Switching to Linux
A lot of the anti-Linux FUD we got accustomed to seeing some years ago became scarce (as did the LLM slop) and the Zorin OS development team says that about 2 million people downloaded its latest ISO in about 3 months. The large majority of these downloaded the ISO from Windows and "Zorin" isn't even the leading 'brand', it's just a community distro. It is funded by its users' community. █
