Revision handed Microsoft the keys to the distortion of the past/history
Yesterday in The Register MS:
People already point out errors:
Citing a bunch of edited-by and funded-by Microsoft sources, the above asserts that some "delays" in the competition - not underhanded tactics - are how Microsoft got "ahead". They've used similar revisionism against Netscape.
"TheReg really plays up the technical side rather than the political side," an associate explains. "And it even gives too much attention to false rumors while being quiet about the sneaky tricks used by Microsoft including the involvement of Bill's mom in the story. See those three videos linked to last year for a detailed summary."
We already republished documentary (video) evidence of IBM giving the contract to Microsoft just because of Bill Epsteingate's mother (the late Maxwell, who died from cancer).
Consider what they did with AARD [1, 2] and what they still do with UEFI, which helps 'break' GNU/Linux. The people who champion this agenda try to crush their critics not with good arguments but with trolling. In the past, The Register MS sided with those trolls.
This isn't the first time The Register MS rewrites computing history in Microsoft's favour, as we pointed out several times in past years. █
