A month after being busted with cocaine the EPO defended him and kept him in place (it hid him using fake and paid "sick leave" only two weeks later, but the problem isn't limited to him):
The "Alicante Mafia" series (about the EPO "Mafia" which intimidates and censors the staff [1, 2] like Benoît Battistelli illegally did) will start soon, maybe in the weekend if not earlier. It'll last until (at least) next month. António Campinos, like Battistelli before him, does not obey orders from judges. That's how a "Mafia" behaves.
They often say that the law won't deter or stop criminals because it's hard to enforce laws against people who reject the law. It's often said in relation to arms control (bans on particular weapons).
And speaking of weapons, remember that Battistelli also broke German laws when he brought weapons to the EPO. In Germany, this is a very serious offence, and the same goes for lying to police (as Team Campinos apparently did a few months back).
Campinos may try to act like he's "nice", but he and his friends from Alicante are a bunch of unskilled Mafioso types and some do cocaine. If the EU continues to ignore this issue, or if national delegates pretend to themselves that this scandal will "go away" (or magically "mend itself"), then they're deluded. Complicity by passivity - more so where professional obligations and responsibilities exist - means they cannot conveniently distance themselves from it.
Bad things cannot easily happen (or persist) without enablers. █
