Google dubs Richard Stallman (RMS) "American software programmer", but he is a lot more than that and has been more than that since the early 1980s. He has done a lot philosophically, politically, and so on. In recent times he has been managing not just GNU but also this list of "ICE Out For Good" protests, now down from thousands to 667 upcoming protests:
