Free Software in Times of Peace (and Times of War, Too)
GAFAM and IBM (figosdev dubbed them "GIAFAM") are war companies. Thankfully, moreover, over time more and more people come to recognise this and publicly speak about it (this isn't "Crank" territories; we were defamed by hired guns many times for simply saying what turned out to be true).
GAFAM and IBM (one can also throw Oracle, Palantir etc. into the mix) strongly dislike the supposedly 'hippie' or 'hacktivist' community; they won't tolerate things they cannot control (IBM outsources code to proprietary prisons like Microsoft's, Oracle took over MySQL and made it more proprietary, just like IBM did with RHEL).
This means that grassroots or 'hacktivist' elements are besieged by them. They're constantly at war against real, genuine, authentic communities.
In recent years we said that many people in 'cancel brigade' (people who constantly attack RMS, FSF etc.) have vanished. Some worked for IBM, some worked (or still work) for GAFAM. Some come from IBM. Hamasman, for example, worked for IBM and Azure (GAFAM) when leading the anti-RMS pogrom, then moved to GAFAM "proper". A reward?
What ever happened to Bully (Molly) de Blanc, who also helped organise this anti-RMS pogrom?
"They seem to use puppets like Molly to insult people and then they replace the puppet with somebody else," one reader told me. "You can only use each puppet so many times before the community turns on the puppet. If it gets to the point where people turn on the puppet then that tends to roll back the impact of attacks previously inflicted by said puppet."
Sort of like the anti-Free software militants, who spent a fortune trying to take down or censor this site. We'll be writing about what they did in years to come. They cannot stop us, but they try regardless.
If you're an activist working for Free software and you become effective, they won't just ruthlessly attack you; they'll also go after relatives of yours. These people are truly insane, some clinically. That makes them fine catspaws for GAFAM et al because they try to use their insanity for immunity/impunity. █
