LinuxSecurity and Linuxiac Are Still Slopfarms, Even Anthony Pell Does It

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Jan 19, 2026

Today, for the first time since 2024, we saw Anthony Pell publishing some slop:

Anthony Pell

This new (latest) article from him is full of slop images throughout.

Slop or fake: What Is Tor Browser and How Does It Impact Linux Security Teams?

It's not unexpected and would not be too shocking if the text too was slop, right?

Let's 'ask' a scanner:

We are highly confident this text was AI generated

So it's either slop or a mishmash (hybrid). This site is a lost cause and its founder seems to have distanced himself from it.

Now, regarding Linuxiac, we were hoping that calling them out on the LLM nonsense would maybe turn Linuxiac into a real news site again. But it doesn't seem like it. The latest output looks like slop and scanners offer the same assessment:

Linuxiac: Amarok, an open-source music player for Linux developed by the KDE community, has just released version 3.3.2, as the second bugfix release for the 3.3 “Far Above the Clouds” series.

A second 'opinion':

Additional fixes target podcast sorting for specific feeds and ensure that stream URLs are correctly saved in playlist files.

So we continue to avoid linking to anything from Linuxiac. We suppose waiting another month or another year won't change a thing. We'll instead focus on another set of sites, ones that did not sell out to 'slop bros'.
