European Patent Office (EPO) Industrial Actions Formally Start in Two Hours
Next week it'll be four months since EPO management got busted with cocaine. It was a very close friend of António Campinos and EPO insiders have long alleged that Campinos too is doing cocaine.
As per the latest (revised) action plan, today workers will slow down their work and limit patent grants. Today will be the first day of actions tentatively meant to last until (at least!) July. If Campinos can survive until July, it'll be 8 years of him in EPO management. But our guess is that even if he sobered up and realised what scandal he had landed himself in (by 'selling' top jobs to his mates from Alicante), the Council would already want him out and show him the door without explicitly - certainly not publicly - saying so. The EPO isn't transparent; there are secretive inner groups and secret meetings, as we explained and showed a decade ago (based on leaks).
This will be a long and difficult year for the "Alicante Mafia" [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. █
