    Boxing tonight, all the sadness all the anger coming out. The gym stink, the edm music blasting. I catch the eye of a girl. She's rough, a few tattoos, not so pretty but attractive.

    I lost my love last week. It was sudden but it was bound to happen. I'm filled with confusion and sadness. An envy to loose myself in my training. Coming back again and again to my mantra, the moment, the focus. Boxing would be part of that too. It's quite a ride to get there, but I feel it's quite needed. I don't really have anything more to do these day.

  • New year, new SoC and new gateway!

    I've been working with a friend[fn:01] to get a second version of the gateway prototype we made a few years ago[fn:02]. This time we aim for a little freedom and without the design restraints we had at the time. We set our goals for a faster device, aiming for better multiple protocol stacks in parallel, real buffering/backpressure and PCIe. The first prototype ran on a Cortex‑A8 with 512 MB of RAM, USB2 and 10/100 NIC, which enabled us to boot multiple kernels –including sel4‑based ones– with ease but runs short of resources and its getting hard to get a hold of those old BBB.

  • My 2D GPU: Gpu1

    `Gpu1` is a GPU without a framebuffer, the pixels are generated just in time to display like the arcade machine and game console from the 80s and 90s.

    It has 128 hardware sprites of any size (no tiles) and 16 color palettes, each sprite has a single color palette.

    Current resolution is 320x480 and later will be 720x480 with a refresh rate of 60 frames per second and the colors are 18bits (262144 colors).

    Each sprite has a position in the range -1024, 1023, a size in the range 0 to 2047 and a plane from 0 to 3. The sprites on plane 0 are at the bottom, the sprites on plane 1 cover sprites on plane 0. Sprites on plane 2 cover plane 0 and 1 and sprites on plane 3 cover plane 0, 1 and 2.
