Corporate Influence Never Impacted Us
We're just 9 months away from our 2-decade anniversary and yesterday our server clocked over 2 million Web requests. We're glad to say we never got any corporate sponsorship, so we remain independent. People can recognise this.
That isn't as easy as people are led to assume; this past weekend someone told me that speaking negatively about many companies would make me a target and generally make life harder. But having an "easy life" isn't the goal, "being useful" is the goal, and not a "useful idiot" of oligarchs.
There's no reason to assume we'll ever "sell out"; it's just not in our character and it would go against our goals. █
