Censorship/Free Speech and Social Control Media
Social Control Media is about control. Who controls it? The owner/s, not the users. In the US, even TikTok is controlled by American oligarchs. They do whatever pleases them [1, 2] and they can get millions of people to work for them... for free. They 'curate' by banning, shadowbanning, "algorithms" (nowadays twisted as "AI") and so on. Y Combinator (YC) is at it again [1], as promoting Ponzi schemes is OK, yet mentioning some lawsuit is not OK. There is an effort to suppress critical information, even if based on "style" or "tone" or whatever (the issue isn't the tone, they don't want the substance to exist in any form).
Censorship isn't a new thing or some novel concept. On the Web, or "online", it is relatively new (because the Net and the Web didn't exist centuries again). It's important to have a grasp of how contemporary censorship works and how to tackle it. █
