The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Delusion - Part III - Women Failing Women to Help Violent Americans From Microsoft
Today, in a nutshell, a British woman speaking to another British woman in an organisation run by a British woman about very abusive SLAPP from a man in the US who strangled women in the US

Try rebooting Windows (Microsoft - an American and notoriously aggressive firm - is all they know at the SRA, and this law-breaking company is the supplier which technically controls the SRA)
Notice how she tactlessly signals that the SRA will prioritise lawyers (litigation industry), not complainants. It is a lapdog, not a watchdog. It's obstructive.
In Part I and in Part II we explained that the SRA had failed women and we're hardly surprised to see the SRA is a state of flux with blunders and shuffles. The SRA isn't working; it's not working for justice and - worse yet - is covers up its own mess and resorts to checking its own homework when it fails. Very Kafkaesque.
Some time soon we'll show the full complaint and provide background, showing (along this process) how the SRA operates and how slow it is, set aside how ineffective it is and how incompetent the staff is. How much are they being paid per hour and is that justified?
Last summer, after the SRA had already dragged its heels for nearly 5 months, my wife sent the SRA this message about an open, ongoing case:
RGC-000155007Dear [redacted],
I hope everything is going well and is generally well with you, more so while you are reading this message. I am writing to you today as I have been made aware by my husband that you are going to be giving your verdict regarding this report/complaint some time soon.
I have kept myself silent and chose not to talk about the harassment I experienced, mostly so as not to interfere and instead let my husband explain our story to you.
I already expressed my pain and sorrow through writing several articles to explain and to let the public be informed of the racial abuse and sexism I endured. I haven't done anything bad. I did nothing to deserve this and so did my husband. He did not do anything bad.
We live in a modest place up North. Each day our routine includes community service by running websites (Tuxmachines and Techrights) at our own expense - no sponsors, no patron, just pro bono. We don't profit from this, but we love what we are doing, just like I support several animal charities (Sheldrick Trust in Kenya, HERD in South Africa and ENP in Thailand).
I don't understand why despite of all the contributions we give to the system, we are now facing these SLAPPs.
These two cases (Matthew Garrett and Alex Graveley) were started to merely silence us; their cases have no merit. All they want to do is exhaust us financially and my elderly parents have been suffering already as they are my dependent. They are hurting us as well as the family. The Law Firm Brett Wilson failed to scrutinise their clients, they forgot to see the moral issue and the money motive is too strong to resist.
As a victim of harassment and behalf of the women who got strangled we are appealing to your good office - to be listened and to be heard. We are screaming for justice and fair treatment; if the justice system continues to fail us, we can no longer live free and have no more confidence where to go. I am trusting your judgement and I hope it would be fair.
All the best,
Rianne
The SRA did not even reply to my wife! Nobody even acknowledged the message had been received (but it did not bounce, so they definitely received it).
How's that for a regulator, eh? Covering up for hired guns and serial stranglers from Microsoft (highly aggressive men that can only ever find employment in Ponzi schemes).
If not even the Puff Daddies and R Kellies of FOSS attract the ire of the sole regulator (it has a state monopoly on regulation), what will people decide about the regulator? It's even worse when in this case it's treated by ladies at the regulators. Bossed by "targets" and governed by "the industry", they probably prioritise the cases of "rich people" (which isn't to be taken literally) for the same reason the IRS in the US loves picking on poor, vulnerable people who cannot afford to wage legal challenges against IRS determinations.
Summed up, SRA will gladly prioritise the "legal industry" over women strangled, raped etc. █
