SLAPPs can be fuel for Streisand Effect. Put in simpler, less cryptic terms, SLAPPs can often draw far more attention to what they originally strived to hide from public awareness. If done overseas or across continents, like Cheeto Chump vs BBC, it causes massive resentment. Here in the UK, there's a growing stigma or stereotype for Americans; they're perceived to be "bullies without borders". Like Americans from Texas attacking British bloggers.
SLAPPs in general can make a lot of money for lawyers. Back in 2024 a local lawyer told us, "oh, lawyers love these sorts of cases" (not exact quote, only from memory) because of how much money gets spent on them. SLAPPs aren't about justice; as the acronym implies, they're a misuse of the legal system, they're an instrument of Public Relations or reputation laundering. █
