Mobbing at the European Patent Office (EPO) - Part VI - Attacks on Staff and Attacks on the Law Merit Another New Series
[Also see Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, and the last part for background]
In sight of impending EPO strikes, which are very firm and timely, we've decided to alter our publication plan and commence a new series about how "Alicante Mafia" took over the Office, led in part by António Campinos and the cocaine addict he's protecting.
Two decades ago when the site was new we focused mostly on software patents. By 2007 or 2008 we had already published a lot of stuff about European software patents (not long after the directive in the EU). We've since then written a lot more about EPO corruption, which turns out to be closely connected to the lobby of software patenting.
The Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure (FFII) explains:
Now comes round 3. It started in July 2005, when the proponents of software patentability agreed to drop the directive and push for the Unitary Patent instead.
"Unitary Patent" is an attack on the law itself and it also violates constitutions. To tackle people who break the law is thus a prerequisite in the fight against patents on algorithms.
Stay tuned, new series coming shortly. █
