Happy Birthday (or Anniversary) to SoylentNews

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Feb 16, 2026

"Happy Birthday SoylentNews" (SN), wishes SN to itself today, as it is "12 Years Old!"

What SoylentNews covers sometimes overlap ours; heck, some core people of SoylentNews or some of the SoylentNews community (readers, commenters etc.) also participate here at some capacity, not just as commenters or readers.

We are gratified to see SoylentNews reaching this milestone and wish them all the best. Some vigorous, malicious trolls spent years trying to drag Jan (the most prominent person in SoylentNews) through the mud; he nearly quit, but the community convinced him to stay. At some point he came under attacks by the same Canadian trans 'activist' who had committed cyber crimes against my wife (she opened several cases in the Police about this).

Beware the trolls.

These people don't build anything and instead try to destroy everything, i.e. to bring everyone down to their own level. They secretly coordinate and collaborate (the destruction) with one another and they cannot code.

SoylentNews needs to be strong in the face of such hordes of vandals. Some of them act like actual "assassins", bordering on death threats and threats of violence against loved ones (family members).
