Not Only Leaders of XBox Got Sacked (Layoffs)
Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond got laid off
So XBox leaders got the boot, only to be replaced by slop (more on that some other day, or in our IRC logs - we need to investigate a little further).
Having studied close to 10 reports about it (Microsofters pounce to control the narrative), it seems clear that XBox is in big trouble. Moreover, like at IBM, there's a trickle of departures in recent hours, e.g.:
Maintaining the illusion (lie) that layoffs won't happen won't be easy; soon, a lot of XBox people (other than top-level management) will get sacked and the likely pretext will be "slop innovation". They'll portray shutdown as "championing AI" or something to that effect. █
