Moments ago:

There are few hundred who were forced to accept 'early retirement' or 'else'. They are leaving IBM by the end of the month. Many of them are highly experienced people whose knowledge was acquired over decades and were responsible of critical products. They will leave a void that won't be filled with either AI or newly hired engineers. The Indian id1ot at the top does not care.

A few hours ago somebody posted "200 people will be ra'd [laid off] in Italy" and despite it being anonymous and unverified it overlaps what IBM European Works Council said some weeks ago, except it gives some actual numbers.

At IBM, layoffs don't always come in RA form. As noted above, many get pushed out, either into retirement or face-saving 'resignation' (under PIP or similar strains).

IBM's demise will harm Red Hat and already harms Red Hat, according to whistleblowers.
