Tim Tuckerman says "my department was recently eliminated and today was my last day".

In recent hours:

IBM is shrinking, moving, and cooking the books because otherwise the numbers don't add up and cannot be used to justify executives' bonuses. By all indications, based on the union and other anecdotes from Europe, it is about eliminating high-paid positions.
IBM cannot afford the current workforce; the debt is increasing and the CEO takes home obscene bonuses.
We're probably seeing some of the last years of IBM and it's anything but certain that IBM can survive the coming decade. █
