There are already mass layoffs at Microsoft this year; XBox staff braces for impact
Microsoft-sponsored propaganda outlets such as GeekWire [1, 2] speak of "Xbox surprise". They basically say that XBox isn't dead because Microsoft dropped some name: "Helix".
This is a Deja Vu All Over Again.
Why?
Because lots of fake products or vapourware were floated last year, under Spencer. They spoke of handhelds, PCs called "XBox", and all sorts of other things.
Nothing materialised.
In the meantime it became apparent XBox would be repurposed as a brand... it would mean just streaming or some online shop for games.
When the boy cries "wolf" 4 or 5 times you stop paying attention to this boy.
Microsoft has no concrete, workable plan for an "XBox" (console) turnaround or comeback.
Some "tweet" is easy, as words are cheap.
We saw this before (several times last year). █
