Towards the end of last month, Jim Garrett wrote to libreplanet-discuss:

I've recently moved to Northampton, Massachusetts, USA. I'm looking
to start a LibreLocal meetup[1] in the vicinity. Is anyone else in the
area who would be interested?

A quick internet search didn't turn up any "Linux" user groups or similar, neither with nor without the "GNU/". -- Kind regards,
Jim Garrett

There has been no response to him and no response/new message in that whole mailing list since then (his message was the only one last month). But the FSF has just reminded people of the upcoming deadline for fund requests:

May is FSF LibreLocal meetups month. Go ahead: sign up to host your own LibreLocal 2026 meetup! We'll help. As a reminder, if you want funding for your meetup, you have to apply by this Sunday, March 15, 2026.

The FSF is committing to financially assisting as many meetups as we can, but please note that the size and amount of our supporting grants are limited. If you would like to apply for support, submit a request to us. Please note: in order to submit a request, you must log in or create a gratis account on my.fsf.org.

The above speaks of Northampton (not in Britain). There are several others already confirmed by the FSF last week. They're all around the world. See this wiki page:

Tell us about your LibreLocal 2026 meetup

4 continents.

March 15 is the deadline to apply for LibreLocal funding
