Our Static Site Generator (SSG) is turning 4 in July. The story of how it came about is probably in IRC somewhere. At the time, Drupal kept breaking itself and we habitually needed to make and restore from backups. At one point I even re-added almost 100 pages by hand, as there were differences (missing pages) in a functional copy of the Drupal database (which we needed to revert back to).

Those days are gone! An hour ago network maintenance was finished and now we can accelerate a bit. We have lots to publish. Making it accessible quickly (almost immediately) is desirable. █
