It Seems Like Google News Cracked Down on (Omitted, Delisted) a Lot of Slopfarms
The Serial Slopper is still at it (fake images, fake text), but nobody can see/find it
Yesterday (last night) we said we were "Hardly Seeing Slopfarms Today, Even in Google News" and today it's the same as we enter a holiday. Is this a coincidence or has Google decided to finally cull slopfarms? In RSS feeds we saw one piece of slop in linuxsecurity.com ("The Two-Person Wall: Why the Linux Backbone is More Fragile Than You Think"), 4 in ubuntupit.com ("4MLinux 51.0 Arrives With Lightweight System and New Updates", "PineTime Pro Takes a Big Step Beyond the Original Smartwatch, "GIMP 3.2.2 Update Improves Workflow, UI Behavior, and Stability", and "GNOME 49.5 Is Now Here with Improved App Folder Accessibility & Shell Behavior"), and one in linuxjournal.com ("LibreOffice Drives Europe’s Open Source Shift: A Growing Push for Digital Sovereignty"). Slop does exists, but it is not being boosted like it used to. This is a cause or factor of cautious hope. We still hope to see almost no slopfarms anymore by the end of this year. The price of oil going through the roof (while painful to all) can deliver that wish. There's no justification/point in spending so much energy just to plagiarise things poorly. █
