Red Tape at Red Hat (IBM)

Getting anything approved these days requires jumping through five layers of management. By the time someone finally signs off, the situation has already changed. Progress moves at a snail's pace because of all this red tape. When did we go from efficient to a red tape nightmare?

Many people now speak about and openly acknowledge that IBM turns Red Hat - and by extension Fedora as well - into slopware. A lot of what they talk about is slop and so little is "Linux" (or something related to that). They also have perverse wet dreams of replacing Red Hat staff with automation handled by slop "agents".

Not only will this fail. It can doom the Red Hat brand to the point where RHEL isn't seen as a system to be trusted. What Red Hat has as its main asset is the brand, which projects trust (otherwise companies could just choose another provider and another system).

IBM is killing Red Hat, according to insiders. They hate IBM because the culture of Red Hat got abolished. Now the guiding principles are the whims and moods of people who peddle buzzwords to manipulate IBM's share prices.
