What Matters is Software Freedom, Not the Brands
"Once GNU is written, everyone will be able to obtain good system software free, just like air."
--Richard Stallman
Windows is down to new lows this month (as seen by statCounter) and in some large countries it is below 10%. 2026 isn't 2016 or 2006. Nowadays we have more options out there, even if many are locked down and oppressive.
analytics.usa.gov sees Windows at 40% right now, with Linux-based operating systems at almost 20%. The main issue herein is, many don't respect or spread freedom; some are bloatware; others belong to GAFAM.
The important thing is to speak about Software Freedom. That's the "forbidden" message. That's what the "masters" don't want people to have. █
