"AI Revolution" Was a Lie: Microsoft CEO Admits What He Calls "AI" is Sometimes Sloppy and Microsoft Admits That Slop is for "Entertainment Purposes Only" (Not for Any Serious Work)
About an hour ago we discussed the growing risks and costs associated with datacentres. They must really start to justify what they do, both to shareholders and local communities that confront issues like water and energy scarcities. Otherwise they must shut down. Reports say that about half of datacentre projects are set to be canceled soon (depends on factors like supply chains, demand, and borrowings). This is based on credible, reputable media, not some sort of "anti-datacentre" so-called 'activists'. This is a commercial issue, not an ethical issue. To them, it's about money and "investments".
The post alluded in passing to slop; we don't call it "hey hi" because many traditional "workloads" got rebranded as "hey hi" in recent years (just for hype's sake) and slop is vaguely defined, though after Microsoft's CEO complained about the term "slop" he himself referred to some output as "sloppy". That makes him a hypocrite and a master of double standards. The previous article was "a good place to link to external articles about Microsoft "entertainment only" policy," said an associate. So for the record again (before it gets "memory-holed"):

There are many more like these; the above quotes give people enough to conduct searches on; if it gets "memory-holed", we can bring it up again and again.
