They've Failed to Ruin Our Community, But They Still Try

They try to make us sad like they are
We're having a summery week this week and also a reasonably calm, quiet week. This morning we did some cooking and feeding, i.e. what we'd really rather do instead of dealing with bullies. I still have several years' worth of material to publish about what they did to us. Eventually people will see everything and realise how much nuisance one gets for just running a GNU/Linux site which dares have opinions (and an audience large enough to absorb these opinions).
Yesterday we learned that our legal team won an important case involving the late Amy Winehouse (this barrister too had worked on our case for a little while). Remember that many NGOs helped us and at the moment the side unsatisfied with the outcome is the other side. We? We're moving on.
Owing to the events of the past 3 years (if not 5 years) I am a lot more familiar with media litigation and am therefore better equipped to cover it on a regular basis for many years to come. I find it genuinely fascinating. We need to strive for more of this endeavour. Thankfully we are not alone: Judges body hits journalist with £14k costs bill for pursuing FOI request
We've been speaking with other people who regularly cover defamation/libel/slander actions. Reform is at hand; to secure it we need to persist and insist on change that works for the "little people", not millionaires who can afford High Court battles (legal fees alone are about $700,000 per side) or subsidise people Hulk Hogan style whilst leveraging pockets' depth to demand secret settlements while engaging in intimidatory behaviour against relatives.
The cost of liberty is not zero. The cost of it can be supremely high.
Be a fighter. Society has only ever improved because of fighters, who do what's right and would not capitulate. █
