When Microsoft's LinkedIn Goes Offline All Your Fake Friends/Connections and Manufactured 'Status' Will be Gone
An ongoing trend.

Many sites now (today and yesterday) speak of the mass layoffs at LinkedIn (Microsoft) - something that we predicted would happen just months ago. It was inevitable (same for XBox).
Forget about "Revenue"; they lose money. The media helps Microsoft belittle or distort what's at stake. Hours ago we saw a Microsoft-funded "news" site that says the mass layoffs are for ‘future success’ (quoting thee company). So layoffs are "success". Got it. Right there... in the headline.
Regardless, don't want to waste time? Life too short? Quit "collecting" digital things such as "likes" or social graph scores based on connections with people you never met or only met many decades ago. Nobody is impressed by that except other LinkedIn "addicts" (an echo 'chamber' effect) and one day the site will go under, along with all the data associated with it.
Many people quit social control media because they recognise it for what it truly is. █
