A Lot of Coverage Adding Hype Factor to Slop Bug Reports... is Made by LLM Slop
Slop loves slop. Slop promotes slop. It loves itself. That's a problem. It's self-promotional in nature, just like many so-called 'crypto' 'coin' sites.
They say that the more one writes about FUD - even if to dispute or debunk it - the more visibility the FUD will gain, but seeing this FUD even weeks later, it probably merits pointing out that a certain proportion of the noise - or what keeps it going in perpetuity - is LLM slop.
LLM slop is infesting the news, including Google News, not only flooding bug-reporting mechanisms (mailing lists, Web interfaces, E-mail addresses). It's wasting people's time, i.e. reducing efficiency, then doing the same via the media to perpetuate a sense of importance. It is fatiguing.
Consider the following from Google News today:
All are the same slopfarms, run by the same person. Can't Google see that it's spreading fake articles from 3 domains at the same time?
It does the same for these:
The 3 slopfarms above are run by the same person. See, this is why we keep seeing lots of noise disguised as news. That's not to say every piece out there is slop, but the slop motivates some actual people to keep writing about it. █
