Today, bolstered by prominent counsels, we took a firm stance in support of journalism, in support of the Net, and in support of vulnerable women who are specifically and systematically being targeted (e.g. efforts to hijack the sites they participate in and any money they have). This goes back to February if not December. This isn't so much about what we saw and said about Garrett; it is about what his own spouse says (his reaction to this is to defame them after caging them). If that's not bad enough, one day we'll show what the court records reveal about his litigation buddy, who apparently engaged in corruption, violence against women, and then hired an attorney who had paid key officials $11,000. They are both Americans. They are all Americans, including the spouse and the attorney. These Americans are forum shopping; they know that the courts in the UK are more favourable to their antics because of rather outdated laws that originate or began in times of the Monarchy (it's not limited to the balance of the burden of proof). My wife, who is based in the UK and is a British citizen, suffered abuse from Americans (at the very least one Canadian who spoke to Garrett) and we know based on a sworn testimony that Garrett and Graveley were collaborating all along; their association with one another tells us something about their very low standards (it's mutual).

Thankfully, key politicians in the Labour Government are female are they are on our side. The two head judges (who are both female) decided to give us Legal Aid and fight off this threat after already acknowledging that both my wife and I did in fact suffer from abuse online - abuse that we neither invited nor deserved. We are not the aggressors here, we merely defended ourselves from vicious attacks, as did American women who had been victimised. At the end, truth and justice will find their way and the world will understand what really happened. The SLAPP industry does anything it can to discourage daylight.

Funnily enough, Garrett (US) now asserts that a lawsuit filed in the US is somehow "contempt of court" in the UK (another continent) for talking about Americans. A decision on this lawsuit (appeal allowed by end of June) is now available. The decision can be appealed and it does mention Techrights. Quoting Judge Laura Taylor Swain (District Court, S.D. New York) in a 9-page ruling this week:

This lawsuit has nothing to do with us, but it does cite Techrights a few times. It's a matter for the US to deal with, not the UK. █
