Techrights Does Not Censor Information About IBM, It Platforms and Retains Suppressed Voices From Inside IBM
They don't like it when people criticise the management
Preservation is extremely important to us. A healthy company (or societies) tries to remember the past, not delete or forget it.
We are fairly robust to all sorts of site-blocking measures and other forms of censorship. We spent several years using and promoting IPFS (it's still associated with the underworld this year, so we're not reactivating it any time soon).
In the case of IBM, censorship is rampant and sickening (to insiders). People are afraid to speak out about real issues, so they rely on anonymity.
Can thelayoff.com assure anonymity? Maybe for now. In the future? Who knows... anonymity can be lost if the site is sold for its data.

Notice what people are saying. I've lost count of how many times thelayoff.com removed perfectly OK comments (and topics, i.e. whole pages) while leaving intact LLM slop from obvious Internet trolls.
The thelayoff.com tends to censor even faster and more ferociously when names of managers (not initials) get mentioned the site gets 'cold feet' (or takedown requests). We are guessing they worry about legal aspects (risk) of such posts, compelling them to either remove or unmask posters.
Some hours ago someone wrote about Albany (the bailout receiver): "We should start a petition to get the Alb leadership and their cronies removed!"
Another then said: "Someone posted awhile back that Huiming and his inner circle should go. I’d take it one step further and say Mukesh too. The site really needs a full leadership refresh. It would probably do wonders for the culture and direction there."
There are many complaints there about sexual favouritism and nepotism.
Meanwhile, in "Bye Bye Annual Salary Increase" (complaints about IBM only rewarding the people who destroy the company), someone used the derogatory nicknames of the CEO and CFO: "it's not Gordon Gekko, but Avaricious Arvind and Capricious Kavanaugh that IBMers have to be worried about. Of course, Greed has NO limit."
The next comment said: "Who, in the right mind, wants to gamble with the career and join a company with no prospect of advancement? IBM can’t attract smart young people, it is a circus for monkeys."
20 hours ago someone said that "it used to a be a reputable place that commanded a lot of respect."
But "come on," someone else said, "IBM has been coasting on past glory in early 2000s and the well is drying up" (IBM has done nothing significant for decades already).
13 hours ago someone said: "You are now expected to work much harder and keep on top of your utilization targets to be around next year to learn that there is no pay increase or bonus for 2026" (not likely to correlate with performance).
"I never even check my salary," said one commenter, "but unfortunately my manager is jealous it seems. How to handle apart from finding a new job."
This latest comment there says:
I joined 5 years ago. At that time I was offered probably a higher salary compared to my IBM coworkers. accepted even though at the previous company I was making 10 % more.I am fine with this. The issue is that once my coworker became my manager he complains that my coworker earn less. Instead of fighting for their promotion he found another solution. Put me on a PIP to have a chance to put me on a lower rank.
Those are insiders! Those are real people!
This gives people a realistic picture of what really goes on inside IBM, even without seeing the large abandoned buildings/complexes. Where are the people who used to work there? Where are they now?
There are many silent layoffs going on (the press and IBM try to 'hide' those affected and families severely impacted) and it has an impact on health of IBM survivors, e.g. near panic attacks mentioned:

Also, what about the mass layoffs at Red Hat? When will any so-called 'Linux' site bother writing about those? █
