IBM colleagues "handed out a PIP and then right after the end date they are gone"
IBM is generally known to be a terrible employer. People just know this. If they don't know this, others tell them. People who work at IBM tell them. They caution them not to even join.
"Need advice on labor attorney," someone has posted this morning. "Don't know if this is the right place as this board mentions layoffs, but lately there have been no layoffs yet people are quietly disappearing from IBM. They are handed out a PIP and then right after the end date they are gone. Does anybody know of a good attorney who can take up the case for wrongful termination?"
It'll cost more than it is worth or a lot more than one can get out of a legal dispute (also, the money will mostly go to lawyers). IBM takes advantage of this.
"I have already had a very long career having worked at several large corporations," someone else said in another thread, as he or she considers turning down a job offer from IBM. "I see the handwriting in the wall about ongoing layoffs everywhere for at least the next few years," it says. "Been there done that - looking for a collaborative culture and not interested in getting chewed up and sp-t out any longer."
IBM is subjecting to PIPs even high-performing employees. Some go into early 'retirement' to save face:

This was hours ago. There are more like this every single day. █
