The "Peanut Gallery" of GAFAM Has Infiltrated Free Software Projects or Disrupts Free Software Communities
Earlier today: Rust Outsources its Financing (or Financial Control) to Microsoft
They contribute nearly nothing and do substantial damage; they're freeloaders who attack the most productive members of projects
Rust seems like an increasingly hostile force controlled by GAFAM, Microsoft/Mozilla in particular (it's also promoted a lot by Google, a large sponsor of Mozilla). Mozilla itself is increasingly controlled by Microsoft and many of the same aggressors who spent years aggravating/aggressing against us (even trying to deplatforms us) promote Rust and Microsoft in tandem. They operate in groups and defame critics (this one openly admitted he had applied to work for Microsoft).
The problem is, these malicious forces are entering communities under the guise of intrigue, but what follows tends to be sabotage. They do not contribute anything substantial, but they certainly want the code to the nuclear weapons (like Code of Conduct drafting and committees).
Communities that wish to last and thrive need to resist these forces. Not every additional person is desirable because bad people do exist out there. Morbidly greedy people, horny for money and power, are unprincipled, manipulative, and deceitful. █
