gnawing at me
what's gnawing at me won't manifest in words well enough, I fear and to show you is to unleash that force fully as if just the tip was ever enough

the queer tarot and the budapest
sigh, another uninspiring tarot month. i got so little time with the may decks that my main memory of Decks I've Worked With is the april failure. i'm finding it hard to be bothered with the queer tarot, i think it's one of those i bought to support the creators. obviously assigned to june for pride. i enjoy looking at it, it's fun and bright and actual art. it's just too modern for me to read with, not very neutral. the budapest is more usable but a little boring, tbh. i chose it for the yellow and red, that seemed like a good summer solstice vibe. the crude simplicity of the art is definitely part of its charm, but idk that it could be my Only Deck, i'd like something more stimulating to go with it.

Shout ’n Slap Magic
Paper Magic is notoriously untimeable with its ten APNAP windows per turn, plus two more APNAP widows for every spell or ability, including for triggered abilities.
That’s why this is a variant. For the kitchen table. Not Comp REL.

scrolling update
I'm still at my plan for not scrolling from last time and I'm feeling less stress. I'm starting to get going with books and get a sense of how much commitment and context different kinds of books need (short stories need a lot with their new context every time, nonfiction can be really low-context)

NetHack 5.0.0 - First Ascension
This is the log of a chaotic Samurai, first of her kind in my ascension todo list, and my first game of the newly released NetHack 5.0.0.
Dlvl1 - a neutral altar, a saddle, and a halberd on the floor. Kind of a random start. As it turned out, I never returned to this altar.

Cannibalism
For a long time the tech industry revelled in the distruption of what it saw as old, legacy industries. But now, as AI takes over tech, we're now starting to eat our own, and it's dark and ironic.
[...]
Meanwhile, CEOs and CTOs are falling over themselves trying to position themselves as visionaries, with the likes of Jack Dorsey[3], Sebastian Siemiatkowski[4], and Matt Biilmann[5] each trying to out-AI-pill one another. Of course, one has to wonder how much of this is AI-washing and how much of it is intentionally eye-catching hyperbole, but these are just the most extreme and visible tip of a very large iceberg.
