Whistleblowers Improve the World
Arjen Kamphuis died a long time ago (cause remains unknown); a decade ago he "worked closely with William (Bill) Binney and Kirk Wiebe. On 11 August 2017, he was invited with Bill Binney to a press conference in Austria, together with Max Schrems and Thomas Lohninger to talk about mass surveillance in Austria." (Source: Wikipedia)
Kirk Wiebe is considered the 'original' NSA whistleblower and Binney, who is more widely known, is 82 and unable to walk. He inspired Edward Snowden.
Less than a week ago we recalled Snowden's sacrifice, which left him 'stuck' in Russia, unable to criticise the country where he is forced to stay. Faking patriotism by silence is not freedom.
Courageous whistleblowers are what makes the world a better place where checks and balances can at least sporadically exist (due to leaks), so we should appreciate and respect whistleblowers. █
