  • Music - from techno, blues and the harp

    When I was a teenager, all the cool kids were playing in a band. So the misfit crustpunk teen me wanted to play in a band as well. Naturally - I'm a trans girl after all - I played the bass.

    I never found people who would accept me into a punkband so I spent years playing alongside canned music. And punk-bass being a boring instrument to play alone I ended up playing a lot of blues.

    Blues bass is a lot of fun. A clear structure to go by, room for improvisation. Really made for jamming with the band, even when the band is just a CD with the bass turned down all the way.

    That was until at some point in my 20s I lost interest.

    Fast forward 10 years and I get the idea of getting myself a Roland 303 clone. What a blast. This set me out to accumulating a nice rig of semi-modular synths, mixing and FX gear and do what happens when you hand a german a 4/4 beat - techno.

    Well my techno quickly morphed into experimental synth live sessions, some concept tapes combined with other forms of art (poetry, drawing and photography) until I had reached a point where I was running in circles. I realized that my whole electronic music revolved around a certain set of experiences and traumata. And if I wanted to move on and heal, I have to stop running in circles and make something different.

    Turned out, I didn't find that Different in electronic music. I found it in poetry, in drawing, in the crafts. So my synth rig collected dust for about a year.

  • Changes and a broken heart

    This is a personal one. I don't often log life events on here but idk, sometimes I do.

    And since gemini is a space very seperated from my actual life, I feel like I can be more open here, knowing I'm not posting this right in the face of my real world friends.

  • The Scraping / More Myositis

    *recycling trash cans missing*

    I swear I saw them, took note that alllll the trash stuff was out. Whoever's week it is to take out the trash cans, sorry. (But we're on an odd-number rotation so everything rolls around eventually)

    God I generate so much waste lmao. This is a problem. Did someone steal our trash cans?
