First Microsoft tried to get rid of the most expensive workers by telling them to retire, even in their 40s.
Microsoft now looks at a significant chunk of layoffs, with the real figures somewhere in the 5-figure region.
The reality of the matter is, Windows is in a freefall, Office being rebranded as "Hey Hi" or "Copilot" something is just faked "growth" (none at all), and many governments worldwide are moving away from Microsoft for very good reasons.
It's noteworthy that Microsoft leakers don't pretend the layoffs are about something like replacing workers with "Hey Hi". If Microsoft later comes up with some "Hey Hi" narrative, then immediately reject it. █
