The "official" day seems to have moved a bit, but the outcome is what we predicted in late 2025. XBox is dead (we've said it was on borrowed time since 2024), but the funeral has not been put in the diary yet. Maybe it'll be cremated by the "palliative care doctor" (Asha Sharma).
The media mostly misses the reality that the layoffs are vastly more extensive or far broader than gaming, with 10,000+ Microsoft staff likely leaving this month. We still wait for any real (as in investigative) reporting on what goes on there; we need whistleblowers, not official or semi-official statements from Microsoft. █
