Preserving Comments About the Real IBM Before They Get Deleted
An hour ago: (will probably be deleted some time soon because censorship of discussion about the censorship always comes so naturally)
This morning I wrote about "IBM's Fall" and a person several years my senior, who lives very near to a fast-emptied IBM building in the US (they quietly turn these into ghost towns, the media mostly avoids covering that), asked me, "are you the one that grew up respecting IBM?" He "thinks [I] need to rearrange the GAFAM, to AMFAG" (or MAGMA, as Facebook has been renamed; figosdev suggested "GIAFAM" because of IBM).
"IBM was revered 40 years ago," I said, but the above person pointed out that "40 years ago the general public had learned how nasty IBM was. Remember they were a company founded on revenge."
This person has a point, as the company seems to nowadays go on a rampage of revenge against every person who built the company. Those persons are being silenced, too. They are forced to train their replacements and if they complain about it, then that's just racist. Always. Racism everywhere, everyone is racist. Do not complain about anything.
We recently pointed out that inflammatory trolling remains intact, whereas many others are silently deleted. It is not a new problem.
The issue here seems to be, a pro-IBM CEO narrative is amplified and everything else is "racist".
IBM likes "disposables", not "opinionated" techies. This was hours ago:
IBM's HR wants a high turnover (staff, not money); no compensation required, no promotions, no job security.
As someone put it a few hours ago, they get rid of the most experienced people at IBM, as a matter of priority, equating seniority with being an extinct oversized reptile:

Do people have any idea what would happen to IBM if all the so-called dinobabies retired tomorrow? I'm almost hoping it happens, just to prove a point. You'd lose decades of institutional knowledge overnight, and what you'd have left is an empty shell of a company.
The trolling there began already. It is an eyesore. That's the whole point.

I was chocked for a couple of weeks, after the POS manager informed me that I was to be let go. The reason, I was too expensive.It took me a couple of weeks to process the new situation. To my surprise, someone contacted me from a competitor company offering a position.
Now, I am more relaxed, I work shorter hours, I enjoy my current job. It allows me to be creative. No pressure or stress. I do, what I deem necessary to be done.
No working weekends ....
There is life after IBM. Given that IBM is a really sh---y workplace.
IBM in the 1980s is not what it is right now. As we showed last month, sites that rank IBM highly as a workplace are in fact funded by IBM. █
