At the end of last year we saw a confidential letter, allegedly authored by one who has zero experience in (or knowledge of) patents but was a friend of the EPO's President, who similarly lacks a background in patents but compensates for it by heavy lobbying.
"Look at the resignation document," the recipient noted, "they cannot fire you unless they can proof that your work is not good... in my case - they lie to themselves all the time and try to disqualify me, after they put my salary in the highest level from the beginning because of my experience and qualifications..."
As noted earlier in this series, the recipient got replaced by one of what EPO insiders call "Alicante Mafia". In effect, the cocaine addict that EPO's President continues to protect (he's romancing with his sister) misuses the EPO's budget like it is a fountain of money for his friends.
Suffice to say, from the point of view of the general public it is totally unacceptable that nobody in the European press dares touch these scandals (some journalists I spoke to told me that they are particularly afraid of SLAPPs). █
