Apple Will Increase Surveillance of Customers, Record Verbal Communications Under the Guise of "Hey Hi"
So-called "summaries" or "outlines" made by LLMs (slop) are notorious for all sorts of reasons, though some are foolish enough to fall for these. Take Google's "overviews" or "Bard" or "Gemini" or whatever Google chooses to call its slop next year... it cannot even produce a 5-word description of who or what I am. It hallucinates in a very severe fashion. No person who knows me would make this mistake, nor did any site that wrote about me. Google is basically making stuff up. They call it "hallucination", even if it is a severe factual error.
Criticisms of LLMs' so-called "summaries" or "outlines" range from "it only abbreviates/shortens, not the same as actually condensing" to "it changes the meanings conveyed". Just because something long is made shorter (or vice versa, as many LLMs merely expand short and meaningful prompts into a "words salad" full of errors, uttered with complete confidence).
Imagine the lousy fashion company, Apple, becoming so reckless and smug (or sloppy) that it would do this:

It does not do what they claim; some companies got conned into thinking that recording phonecalls, for instance, then transcribing them (nothing to do with Machine Learning; it's not needed, it's computationally expensive), then 'compressing' words by eliminating things without actual comprehension of the occupation/words spoken would somehow "improve efficiency" while burning lots of fossil fuels.
Apple now drinks that same Kool-Aid.
This is Apple trying to participate in a very dumb cargo cult, which is in effect a bubble. █
