IBM PIPs Continue Until Morale Improves, Silent or Quiet Firings at IBM Explained
IBM is a dying company
It has been one heck of a week for IBM, whose share price fell to $199. But hidden or sheltered in online gossip is evidence of significant headcount reduction, which IBM won't call "layoffs" or even "RAs". IBM has gotten a lot more sneaky. Insiders explain in "IBM layoffs upcoming!" that - as of hours ago - "Pip’d one week after stock crash. Can confirm."
"It’s brewing for sure [the layoffs]. But when will it hit?" someone else has said.
The most interesting discussion though concerns quiet firings though. In the below screenshot focus on the comments at the bottom, i.e. the earlier comments which are better (before the rage-baiting troll and those who fed this obnoxious, distracting troll).

See what they do there? In a nutshell, same as Microsoft. They push people out. This way they needn't pay them anything and don't report any layoffs to shareholders.
There's meanwhile a bunch of really strange stuff going on while IBM is investigated for securities fraud. To quote this other new thread:
IBM has filed a SEC Form 8-K: Unscheduled unreported significant corporate event
"Form 8-K is a mandatory current report filed by U.S. publicly traded companies with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to disclose significant, unscheduled corporate events. Companies generally have four business days from the occurrence of a material event to file this form, ensuring investors receive timely updates between annual (10-K) and quarterly (10-Q) reports. "
It was filed yesterday:

Not sure if this means more bad news is coming or if this was them filing something about the 2Q Earnings that took 25% of the stock. Examples I was given of things that a 8-K is for is a C-suite quitting or being removed, bankruptcy, or the loss of a significant large contract.

This is probably because of the Arvind letter pre-announcing results a week before the earnings call.
Time will tell what it is about. Let's not speculate (just yet).
Like we said 2 days ago, IBM is trying very hard to change the subject or the "news cycle". "IBM Acquires HRL to Bring Silicon Spin Qubits to Its Anderon Quantum Foundry" is one example of this and somebody says: "The timing on this is very interesting. . . Plenty of money for more M&A. Buying their way to revenue growth continues. ."
More buzzwords. "More private equity style money laundering," someone commented. "Moving money around, ruining lives of more American workers. Another acquisition to delay another day of reckoning."
And "yes this feels very much like yet another distraction in short succession," someone else has said.
So IBM is investigated for fraud, there are many quiet dismissals, and then IBM goes "quantum quantum quantum quantum quantum quantum quantum quantum quantum!"
As someone put some hours ago: "so what's the good news from Arvind and his so called leadership ? More layoffs and PIPs of US IBMers that you call integrity ?"
IBM is a dying company. Also see below more evidence of the rot. █
