  • More Homeworlds Notes: Rapid Growth; The Red Power

    The engine of growth is the combination of green and blue. For rapid building of ships in a new star system, you'll want to discover the star system with either a green star and a blue ship, or a blue star and a green ship.

    If you have the green power but not the blue power in the system, this will limit growth because you will only be able to build a single color. Most of the time you will not be able to build up a large population of a single color in one system, due to the threat of an overpopulation attack. Of course, if you have the blue power but not the green power, you can't build additional ships anyway. Something that might make sense, under the right circumstances, is to discovery a blue star using a blue ship, and then trade the blue ship for a green one.

  • Manuscript Submitted

    Well, a chapbook manuscript. My larger one, the would-be first collection, remains a work in progress, rejected repeatedly, though often with "it's close" sorts of language.

    The chapbook manuscript is a dozen poems, a little weirder and more surreal than what I normally write. I'm hoping the press takes it. It's a better fit than my usual work.
