persona
Do I want a persona, an alter ego, becoming someone, or do I want to dissolve in reality?
If it's all going toward liberation anyway, might has well make it fun. As long as I remember that it's all a show and I don't get stuck into the illusion.
How to brand myself?

Re:log: Root shell
Thank you Thrig for addressing this topic, as a true Master of Pebcak I can't avoid to create or make peback every time I touch a computer… 😅
On my defense I can tell you that I use this "workaround" only on my personal workstation, if anything should happens I think I should be able to fix it… 🤞

Root shell
The trap here is when fish fails after execution (maybe the binary did not get updated with a system update and so now it runs but fails) and the subsequent struggle to get to a working root shell, often at 2 AM in the morning when you're in a hurry to try to fix something else (maybe we can reboot into single user mode, or …), which is why some sysadmins will advise to never touch the root shell. Want to run something fancy? Type it in manually.
With a customized root shell maybe the upgrade procedure includes a "turn off the customization" step to lower the risk of surprises and complications come upgrade time. But then you need to remember to run that extra upgrade code, or even if documented the next hire might miss it.

Duty of Care (Re: Andrew Kelley's "Don't Take The Black Pill")
I've generally been a fan of the way Andrew Kelley, lead developer of the Zig programming language, has been talking in public in recent months. He's held the line against the use of counterfeit intelligence in Zig, and has been open about his disdain for it. This is good!
So I was sad when I read his recent post, "Don't Take The Black Pill."
