15% of IBM Staff Marked for Layoffs ("RAs"), the Workers' Objective is to Find Another Employer and Leave
This morning: IBM Cannot Survive for Much Longer, There Are Limits to RAs and Offshoring, IBM Now Asks Workers to Quit
"If you are on a PIP you are a target for the company," someone wrote a couple of hours ago. "Managers will start tagging people as low performers and put them in PIPs, then lay them off. That's how IBM works."
From what we read and then documented months ago, line managers (or equivalent roles) were already instructed to mark 15% of their staff as "low performers". Prelude to a PIP, which almost always results in dismissal or departure (the net effect is the same).
This morning we showed that less than 20% of the company is American. And out of those, many are not American citizens but live in America without security (from deportation for instance). What does this make IBM? "This is sad. Truly no longer an American company," someone has just uttered. That's based on official figures anyone can access and assess.
This was an hour ago:

Also this past hour alone:

"That's not a workforce, that's a waiting room."
20 hours ago, a reminder of how IBM gutted Confluent: (nearly 1,000 silent layoffs that the media ignored)

Sounds a bit sour, like this from 14 hours ago:

Hardly voluntary by the sound of it, but if they sign an NDA (non-disclosure and/or non-disparagement; usually the non-disclosure encapsulates the non-disparagement) they cannot publicly explain how the disposal works. █
