Many GNU/Linux PCs Are Not Connected to the Net or Don't Use the Web
In the lucrative 'niche' or sector of film production, it is widely known that many workers use GNU/Linux workstations, as the back end too does rendering with GNU/Linux ("rendering farms" before they called them "hey hi data centres" or "clown computing"). If you edit videos or draw things (or designs), it's not likely visiting some Web page will assist the task. GNU/Linux use is hardly limited to these highly specialised professions, however, as many GNU/Linux adopters are coding, not surfing the Web. Instead of playing games (with DRM) or visiting very bloated sites with "webapps" they focus on productive tasks.
In my observation, GNU/Linux users don't browse the Web much (we're going kind of ‘offline’ tomorrow). I myself get my news in Kate (text editor), not a Web browser. This means that Clownflare and statCounter can be biased against GNU/Linux, not in favour of it.
Saying GNU/Linux user-agents are just "bots" (Microsoft Lunduke and other Microsofters say this) is like asserting that the Twin Towers fell not because of two giant planes but because of explosives. When information does not suit Microsofters, then they will try to discredit it. When lies are promulgated, as happens a lot at Microsoft, that is OK with the cult. In support of their "theory" they have some anonymous comment in Reddit. █
