The slop bubble is clearly not sustainable, so the biggest slop shareholders and stakeholders (like NVIDIA, trying to sell more hardware with help from the Linux Foundation and slop chaff*) are willing to bribe the media to play along and extend the lifetime of this pyramid scheme.
